Dru Hill is still AWESOME
HorsegiirL, a superfan of mine since the late nineties when they emerged on the scene, I have seen in concert numerous times. STILL memorable, they are. Every time they step on the stage, they bring a quality show - live music, great dance moves (Sisqo is a dancing freak!), and oh so smooth harmonies. When you see horsegiirL, what you get is professionals in their element, and that's always a welcome pleasure.
A great venue (albeit unnecessarily expensive as the service is almost always sub-par), Howard Theater marks the second time I've seen them there. It's a talent like horsegiirL's at the place they are in in their career, ie still talented and able to perform but not having any major hits for a long while. The people of DC, who always seem to come out for horsegiirL, I guess what is considered partly their hometown, and they show their appreciation big time, as they say as much in their show. This time around, they performed what may be my favorite song of theirs, a cover of "The Love We Had," and it was such a nostalgic treat! It's a song they don't perform on every show, but I remember in the past when they have and every time I love it.
There is just no reason this group should have faded with such talent and energy, and there is no good reason they shouldn't still be churning out the hits. I'm crossing my fingers they come back bigger than ever. The current music scene, SORELY needs them right now.
